Gressenhall Museum We went to see the Lorina Bulwer display at Gressenhall Museum of Rural Life. Lorina was incarcerated in the workshouse in Great Yarmouth which would have been very similar to Gressenhall. We hope to be able to work with the museum next year.
The exhibition is great. There’s a backlit display of the whole of the sampler.
We have able to borrow a facsimile of the sampler which we will share with the group next week. It shows both sides of the sampler and has been stitched together using the stitch marks that Lorina used.
Gressenhall Museum is well worth a visit. It is closed through the winter but will reopen for February half term. Here’s a link to Letter to Myself.
How fascinating – I’ll have to pay Greasenhall a visit on our next visit.
