This project will take place from October to December 2016. We will work with two groups of women, creating textile pieces inspired by the Lorina Bulwer Sampler.
In the late nineteenth century Lorina was incarcerated against her will in a workhouse in Great Yarmouth and expressed her frustration through embroidered texts. Some of these pieces are now owned by Norfolk Museums Service; participants will have the opportunity to view Lorina’s famous sampler at the end of this project.
